Hello World!

Ready for take off! Launching out and into the big world wide web is a frightful yet exhilarating feeling, as putting yourself out there is never easy (or it isn’t to me). If you are trying to find inspiration to start something for yourself, here’s hoping this could motivate you. This is my first post, yet I write this to my future self, for when I look back on this one day and see how far I have come since the beginning. It’s about my quick journey (or long for some) of putting this idea together for this website.

You see, I love, love, LOVE travelling. Since I was young, I travelled with my family a lot. My first international trip came in 2009, and since then I’ve explored 37 countries. Most of them on my own, as a solo female traveler. Much to the dismay of my family at times, with what can happen in this world. Touch wood, I’ve been fine and I’m a huge advocate for independent travelers and I want to attract people who have a passion for travel.

With all my photos, videos, stories, memories, tips, hacks and advice – I figured I could make something worthwhile and help others out there, or those of you who have a hobby of finding interesting reads.

So, listen to people around you! These are your motivating magnets! I’ve had lots of friends and family say ‘you should be a travel agent’ ‘you should be a flight attendant’ ‘you could be a tour guide’ ‘you should be a Youtuber’, the suggestions went on!

Unfortunately, I didn’t take up any of these careers, and I am happy with my job as an accountant. But I did make the decision to put a website together in May 2017. I wanted to get my travel life out there, to attract even that one person (probably my Mum, hi Mum) to read about my journey of the past, present and future.

It’s not easy, I’ve become a great juggler! Between paying two mortgages, a full time professional career that I travel up and down the coast for, vacationing as much as I can and trying to maintain a social life in my hometowns, while building up a travel presence on social media and on one wage – I feel like I can juggle 10 balls! But I’m not looking for any sympathy votes or ‘how does she do it’ shoutouts, I’m trying to show that anyone can have a passion and put time aside for it.

If you want to contact me please do so, I am a conversationalist that can chat for hours. Plus, I like to think I’m very approachable.. ask my family & friends haha!

So thanks for anyone reading this, and I really mean it. Whether you’re a 3 second Kath & Kim reader or you’ve taken five minutes out of your day, I appreciate your time getting to know me and my spiel about my website, I’m so excited to say MY website!

Did this awaken you or you were once in this beginning position? How did you feel when you took the first step to create something of your own? Leave your thoughts below.
